Biblio-Cool Jukebox – Episode 7
Audio-Biblio-Cool – Episode D: "Above Criticism Since 2010"
I don't know many people who have ever purchased a record, CD, 8-track, cassette or whateverthefuck the kids are listening to music on these days, and remained immune to the perceived judgement from some slack jawed sales clerk. Most of us are hardwired to worry about what others think and what the music says about us as valuable oxygen engulfing earth dwellers.
Audio-Biblio-Cool wants to free you from those feelings and their master: GENRE. Genre is an insidious creature. A parasite to creativity that forces us to say things like, 'This is my guilty pleasure.' What the hell do we have, as autonomous individuals, to feel guilty about? Have we violated some law? Failed to read the fine print? Slaughtered the lamb of societal acceptance by admitting that we take pleasure in a song that may not meet with the approval of others? Hell no.
Pleasure is good. Music is good. Life is really damn short and we don't have too much time to muck around worrying about the opinions of others.
This romp through the alphabet of sound breaks the restraints of genre and presents you with monthly instalments of music we LOVE. As the comedian once said, 'Some of these jokes are just for me, kids.'
We invite you to come along with us for a listen. Maybe we'll play stuff you like. Maybe we'll introduce you to something new. Maybe we can just play really good music and make life that much more enjoyable.
Listen to the world.
