In this episode Rosanna talks with Gözde & Sasha about the international comedy scene in Berlin.

Sasha Petrova is a Berlin-based comedian. She studied film directing and worked in film before moving abroad, and now works in Berlin as an actress and comedian. Her stand-up is known for cinematic, emotional stories with a touch of absurdity.

Istanbul-born, Berlin-based artist & comedian Gözde Güngör holds a BA degree in European Union Studies (2013) and another in Photography & Video (2012) from Istanbul Bilgi University, and an MA degree from the Institute of Art in Context (2018) at the University of the Arts Berlin. With a thesis exploring humour and its effects on the human psyche, she brings a political & scientific approach to her craft. Initially focused on photography, video and performance art, Güngör's artistic practice has evolved into stand-up comedy. Using comedy to tell stories and highlight the absurdities of the human condition, her work intertwines political edge with boundary-pushing humor, and a healthy dose of silliness. She founded "Back to the Cave Comedy" in 2017 through which she produces and curates comedy events in her base city Berlin. Güngör’s works were exhibited in many international venues and platforms such as Ballhaus OST, Akademie der Künste Berlin, KW Institute for Contemporary Art, Haus der Statistik and transmediale.

elle dit - Statistically women* are still underrepresented in most forms of media. In this instance we take raising your voice literally and produce a one hour show featuring women*'s voices. elle dit invites all women* in Berlin to make contributions - participating in a live show, contributing music, sound pieces, stories, interviews, readings, or any other kind of audio contribution. Although we focus on creative and cultural work and women* in the arts, contributions from all fields are welcome. Beginning in English and German, the show also aims to include contributions in other languages. elle dit is an inclusive platform which takes an intersectional and feminist approach to making radio and aims to include all women* (female identifying, trans, queer,…). On the fourth Tuesday of the month elle dit hosts Berliner Runde - an hour exploring what's going on in Berlin with music, interviews, news and more!
