🌿 Episode Overview Some plants are loud about who they are, and burdock is one of them. With its deep taproot and burrs that hold on to whatever passes by, this plant has a way of making itself known ;)
Today's guest is Janne Kaas.
Janne is a city dweller turned farmer. Originally studying Criminology and Forensics, she decided that her path lay elsewhere. She spent eight years in Berlin, where she ran bttr. — “Back to the Roots” — a cold-pressed juice and adaptogens shop. These days, she works on an organic farm, with her little Frenchie, Lotti, for company, finding time to talk to the cows and enjoy the sunshine along the way.
In this episode, we explore burdock, its traditional place in herbal medicine, and its affinity for rough edges and disturbed ground. Alongside Janne’s journey from city life to farm life, we talk about clearing out what no longer serves us, finding what nourishes, and what it means to get back to our roots.
