Dafne Narvaez Berlfein wurde in Quito, Ecuador, geboren. Sie studierte Audiovisuelles Design an der Fakultät für Architektur und Design der Universität Buenos Aires und absolvierte 2018 den Masterstudiengang am Institut für Kunst im Kontext der Universität der Künste Berlin. Sie arbeitet als Videokünstlerin, Forscherin, Kulturproduzentin und Kunstvermittlerin. Ihre Praxis konzentriert sich auf kollaborative interdisziplinäre Prozesse, insbesondere in den Bereichen Musik und Performance, mit dem Ziel, dezentrierte Repräsentationsweisen zu erzeugen. Sie arbeitet mit der Tanz- und Performancekompanie Maqamat an ihrem laufenden Performance Projekt #Minaret - eine Hommage an die Stadt Aleppo vom libanesischen Choreografen Omar Rahje (auf Tour 2018-2020). Weitere aktuelle Kooperationen umfassen Arbeiten für Institutionen wie, Distict Berlin, Akademie der Autodidakten/Ballhaus Naunynstraße, NGBK/Universität der Künste Berlin, Labor Sonor/Ausland & Ballhaus Ost. All diese Projekte entstehen in Zusammenarbeit mit verschiedenen Künstlerinnen, unter anderem mit Hanna Hartman, Mary Ocher, Liz Kosack und Shanti Suki Osman. Sie ist Forscherin im IDIS-Projekt (Research on Image and Sound Design) der Universität Buenos Aires. Ihr Forschungsschwerpunkt liegt auf Werken von Künstlerinnen aus den Bereichen Film-, Video- oder Klangkunst, die in nicht-kommerziellen, weniger sichtbaren Kontexten arbeiten. Ihre Forschung spiegelt sich in der monatlichen Veranstaltung "Sentimental Punk" wider, einer Serie zum Thema Experimentalfilm und Live-Improvisation, die sie seit 2015 als Teil der Programmgruppe des Berliner Projektraums Kotti-Shop durchführt.
Statistically women* are still underrepresented in most forms of media. In this instance we take raising your voice literally and produce a one hour show featuring women*'s voices. elle dit invites all women* in Berlin to make contributions - participating in a live show, contributing music, sound pieces, stories, interviews, readings, or any other kind of audio contribution. Although we focus on creative and cultural work and women* in the arts, contributions from all fields are welcome. Beginning in English and German, the show also aims to include contributions in other languages. elle dit is an inclusive platform which takes an intersectional and feminist approach to making radio and aims to include all women* (female identifying, trans, queer,…).
