« Special Event » Bites #Borscht with Boiling Room

For this occurrence of Bites, a format where cooking is seen as a primordial way to gather, group, form and share life, facilitate organic exchanges and, if eventually reflected on, is used as a form of expressionand a tool to open sensorial gates through knowledge, Jasmina Al-Qaisi invites Boiling Room, a multidisciplinary volunteer initiative created to provide warm meals for people escaping the war.
Boiling Room creates a shared space of collectivity through communal cooking. During the cooking Boiling Room takes the shape of a Live Stream with images from the kitchen, artistic intervention, interviews and music. With the content they aim to address relevant topics of current global conflict. The live stream serves them to raise donations for independent initiatives of people fighting in Ukraine, working on the borders and all across Europe to help those in need. The main part of the prepared food is brought to several places in Berlin that host people who have escaped Ukraine.
Bites is a culinary and often sonic research conducted by Jasmina and guests.
