« Nomadic Art » NomadicRadio: SESSION #28
Amo Collective, a group of scholars, artists, and activists based in Berlin, invites you to listen to a soundtrack of pieces created for the annual Decolonial Flanerie, a public walk event held on September 8, 2023, on the streets of Berlin-Mitte.
We will especially listen to sonic pieces that emerged from layers of colonial and GDR histories that can still be sensed when we stroll through the streets of Mitte.
The first sound contribution is called: 'Freiheitlich Demokratisch Links’ produced by hn. Lyonga and Michael Westrich. Here, the sonic prioritizes the notion of listening, listening for what refuses to be seen or heard, for what is rejected and embraced as the "Ordinary" from elsewhere and here.
The second collaboration is a Sonic Storytelling called 'Poem for Future-Past Growth' produced by Carla J. Maier, Kwame Aidoo, Eliana Jacobs, Nicole Pearson and Savannah Sipho. This sonic storytelling combines poetry and collected ambient sounds from Berlin and Accra, mapping out the different connections on the colonial traces that are still perceived in the Berlin neighbourhoods.
Amo Collective invites you to get in tune with their artistic and theoretical explorations made in their past urban walk Decolonial Flânerie.
Enjoy!
