From the WINGS archive: Jean Hardisty's 1999 plenary speech to the US National Women's Studies Association describes the tactics and ideologies of three waves of anti-feminist movements, exemplified by Phyllis Schlaffly, Beverly LaHaye, and Camille Paglia, and concludes by describing the sneaky equality rhetoric of the white-rights movement. She predicted the need for what arose as the Black Lives Matter resistance, and advised emulating the right's use of perpetual recruitment and internal coordination.
