An audio montage of news media, infomercials, music and field recordings that are a prompt to think about how images from the current war in Gaza are being circulated and interpreted according to different interests.
These include: affective images that indicate an exceptional humanitarian crisis at scale and evidence of possible war crimes; a “victory image” that the Israeli Netanyahu government is under pressure to produce following security and intelligence failures that dismissed indications of Hamas’ plans to attack on 7 October; and as a “live-fire, real-time experiment” and demonstration of Israeli’s military technologies, indicative of a global weapons market and production supply chains that implicate the US, UK, Germany, the Netherlands and Australia in the war.
