Dafne Narvaez Berlfein was born in Quito, Ecuador. She completed a Bachelor's degree in Audiovisual Design at the Faculty of Architecture and Design, University of Buenos Aires and in 2018 graduated from the masters program at the Institute for Art in Context, Berlin University of the Arts. She works as a video artist, researcher and cultural producer. Her practice focuses on collaborative interdisciplinary processes, mostly working with the fields of music and performance, with the aim of creating decentered forms of representation. Her work on the audiovisual staging for Gerhard Stäbler's new music theatre piece Simon premiered recently at the Schauburg Theater. She collaborates with the dance and performance company Maqamat throughout 2018 - 2020 presenting their work #Minaret - an homage to the city of Aleppo from Lebanese choreographer Omar Rahje. Her current projects include collaborations with various female artists, including Hanna Hartman, Mary Ocher, Liz Kosack and Shanti Suki Osman. She is a researcher for the IDIS project (research on image and sound design) of the University of Buenos Aires. Her research focuses on works by female identifying artists who produce work in the fields of film, video or sound art in non-commercial, less visible contexts. Her research is reflected in the monthly event "Sentimental Punk", a series exploring experimental film and live improvisation, which she has organized since 2015 as part of the programming group at the Berlin project space Kotti-Shop.
Statistically women* are still underrepresented in most forms of media. In this instance we take raising your voice literally and produce a one hour show featuring women*'s voices. elle dit invites all women* in Berlin to make contributions - participating in a live show, contributing music, sound pieces, stories, interviews, readings, or any other kind of audio contribution. Although we focus on creative and cultural work and women* in the arts, contributions from all fields are welcome. Beginning in English and German, the show also aims to include contributions in other languages. elle dit is an inclusive platform which takes an intersectional and feminist approach to making radio and aims to include all women* (female identifying, trans, queer,…). Anyone interested can contact Colaboradio with the subject: elle dit.
On the fourth Tuesday of the month elle dit hosts Berliner Runde - an hour exploring what's going on in Berlin with music, interviews, news and more!
